Hello there and welcome. I'm thrilled you're here. Let me tell you a little something about myself. I am a self-taught artist who having rediscovered my love of drawing and painting three years ago, hasn't stopped drawing since.
Once I started sharing my artwork on facebook I began to receive commissions for pet portraits which opened up a whole new chapter in the book of Jago. I loved doing them and the feedback I started to receive was fantastic so in April 2017 I decided to turn this new found passion of mine into a business and JaGos Art was born.
I have been fortunate to have been commissioned to draw many, many beloved pets since then and I have loved doing each and every one. I specialise in using graphite pencil and coloured pencil when creating pet portraits but you will see that I have also painted many other animals using watercolour. Always one to set myself new challenges, this was a new medium to me and it has proved to be a lot of fun to use.
So, here we are in 2020 and it was time to set myself another new challenge, namely entering the world of technology. I found myself getting frustrated last year with the shorter days. I still had the urge to be creative but working in poor light, well the eyes said No! This was when I discovered I could still be creative but using digital technology as opposed to paper and pencils. I'm not going to lie, its been a learning curve, I was a complete novice and I still have a lot to learn but I've enjoyed the process and now I have begun producing artwork which I am very pleased with, so much so I have decided to grow another branch on the JagosArt tree.
I am very lucky to live in a beautiful part of the country, Devon, England. I was out walking my dog on my local beach, something I have done countless times, when it struck Me that there is so much inspiration all around Me, why was I not using it. I will admit that, having lived here all my life, I have taken my surroundings for granted but in recent years, I have begun to appreciate more and more the stunning landscapes and coastlines, the quaint little towns and villages which are a moments drive in any direction. Not everybody is this lucky and so it dawned on Me how nice it would be to share where I live with everyone else.
I have decided that it would be a great idea to use my new found love of digital painting and combine it with this new idea of mine, hence I have begun creating digital illustrations of my favourite places.
JagosArt was born because of the pet portraits and they remain as important to Me now as they did then but it is very exciting to Me that there is room for JagosArt to grow. I planted the seedling almost three years ago and it now has three branches. Onwards and upwards.
I hope you enjoy what you see and I look forward to hopefully seeing you again soon.
